Alteration Policy

  • Alterations are not included in the price of our gowns

  • Cinderella’s Boutique can recommend a few tailors, and you can make the final selection.

  • The tailor that you select will determine the cost of alterations based on the amount of work that will be needed to achieve a tailored fit for you.

  • Remember, gowns are not custom made to your personal measurements. A sales person will take your measurements to help determine which standard size to recommend. Your gown is not guaranteed to fit without the need for alterations.

  • When choosing a gown size, be sure that all of the measurements are the same or lower than those of the size you are selecting. It is easier for a tailor to take a gown in then to let it out. It is rare that a formal gown fits any body type perfectly.
    • Normally there must be alterations done by a professional for a smooth tailored fit. It has been our experience that small alterations are necessary to most of the gowns such as hemline or side seam.

    • Size charts from each manufacture serve as a general guideline to help us determine your size. It is best to go by the fit and cut of a particular gown. As a general rule, the client’s largest measurement (bust, waist, hip) determines the size to be ordered, according to the manufactures size chart.
